As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe during all my time in Iraq. Sometimes people will stare at you slightly out of curiosity, but it does not feels threatening at all, and they normally won’t do it for too long to the point that it gets creepy. It’s as safe as most other countries in the Middle East like Saudi, Syria or Emirates, and much safer than most European capitals like London, Paris or Brussels.
