Bridging Cultures: Conversations Beyond Borders in Berlin

On July 15, the Travellers Cafe, organized another successful event as part of our project, “Conversations Beyond Borders.” This initiative, fueled by our team’s passion and dedication, aims to forge meaningful connections between young individuals from different corners of the globe. This time, we were excited to bring together 14 participants from Germany and Iraq in Berlin, Germany, as we continued to fulfill our vision for 2023 and promote sustainable peace through intercultural dialogue.

The event held in Berlin was an incredible milestone in our journey. We were delighted to see the participants engaging in a wide array of social activities and experiencing the traditional Iraqi dance, the Choby Dance, which added a vibrant cultural touch to the occasion. The ice-breaking games created an atmosphere of camaraderie, helping to break down barriers and create connections that transcended geographical boundaries.

At the heart of our event’s success was the meaningful intercultural dialogue that unfolded among the German and Iraqi participants. It was heartwarming to witness young individuals sharing their unique experiences of living in their respective countries, fostering a deeper appreciation for each other’s cultures and perspectives. These exchanges became a catalyst for building empathy and understanding, nurturing the seeds of peace and cooperation.

Throughout our journey, we have firmly believed in the vital role of youth-to-youth exchanges in cultivating genuine connections between nations. By providing a platform for young individuals to interact, learn from one another, and dispel misconceptions, our initiative is paving the way for a more interconnected and harmonious world. We are proud to continue our work, revealing the untold side of Iraq, a country with a rich heritage that often goes unnoticed amidst headlines of conflict.
