Different cities and villages will have different clothing standards.  Mosques always  require respect and complete coverage.  For the most part, inside west Baghdad and a few other cities such as Erbil , Sulaymaniyah , Duhok , and Basra , women are allowed to wear short sleeves.  We kindly suggest no shorts or dresses above the knee.  In sacred cities such as Karbala and Najaf, it is complete full coverage.  Inside the Holy Shrine or Imam Hussein, a woman cannot wear makeup and ankles must be covered.

You can either book a flight online via Fly Baghdad , or Iraqi Airways ( Recommended ) but to this moment 26th Sep 2023, online booking is not possible and you have to do it in-person through travel agency and there are many.
